Derek Lawlor presented his AW09 collection as part of the Central St Martin’s MA show at London Fashion Week. The collection, a series of heavily embellished dresses, was credited by Sarah Mower as ‘fabulous knitwear’ on vogue.com and received great press and industry recognition.

Inspired by Japanese body armour, Lawlor developed a unique lace cord technique using wax cord to create organic sculptural shapes on tight fitting cashmere dresses. Lawlor’s original lace technique formed the canvas from which he designed this collection and began the designers relationship with unusual techniques for which he has become renowned.
