London Fashion Week SS12 sees Derek Lawlor collaborate with long term friend and designer Jayne Pierson on the début collaboration, PIERSON LAWLOR.
Jayne Pierson and Derek Lawlor are also honoured to announce a collaboration with The Royal Ballet for the S/S12 season. Continuing the artistic merger of fashion and art, the collection will be modelled on the graceful figures of Royal Ballet dancers. Eight women and two men from the prestigious ballet company shall exhibit their elegance and poise on the catwalk. The strength and agility of The Royal Ballet’s dancers is the perfect canvas on which to present the avant-garde, luxe designs of JAYNE PIERSON and PIERSON LAWLOR.
‘The Mobius Strip’ Spring Summer 2012 show, which is sponsored by Sebastian Professional, Is a scientific approach to the elementary. Designed organic structures are built rather than evolved, whilst morphing texture with layering and the organic with raw elements. The history and the future evolve simultaneously. An intercultural world melds new and old ideas. Primal detail, future in presentation, the industrial archaic is re-defined.
Derek Lawlor has a fascination with the physical properties of his materials which are intrinsic to his designs whilst testing the possibilities of fabrics. Ever evolving their innovative techniques, this collaboration questions the boundaries of bespoke knitwear in a ready to wear collection.
The collaboration will be shown as part of JAYNE PIERSON stand- alone Spring Summer 2012 show, sponsored by Sebastian Professional.

Derek Lawlor AW11 Collection
Derek Lawlor presents his eagerly anticipated AW11 collection at 'Circuit', a platform for 'the fashion‐forward vanguard'. Whilst continuing to develop his signature cording techniques, this collection introduces exciting new elements to Lawlor's work. Structural, hand‐woven pieces sit against a softer layered silhouette, incorporating delicate French silk chiffon with prints by illustrator and longtime collaborator, Alec Strang. For this collection, Lawlor has introduced a palette of blues and greens to sit against his classic muted tones, while intricate sculptural pieces are seamlessly combined with wearable separates. Derek Lawlor's AW11 collection not only demonstrates his noted artisan approach, but also his growing versatility as a designer. Lawlor’s fascination with the physical properties of his materials is intrinsic to his designs. Testing the possibilities of fabrics, he manipulates them into complex new forms yet maintains an effortless fluidity in his pieces ‐ a true testament to his craftsmanship and vision. Ever evolving his innovative techniques, Lawlor's collections continually question the boundaries of bespoke knitwear.Derek Lawlor AW11 at ‘Circuit’
